About Us
The KNUST Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis (LISA) was created in October 20, 2018. It is a next generation statistical collaboration laboratory with a goal to increase the quantity and quality of statistics and data science applied to advance high-impact research at KNUST and expert decision making in the community. LISA is part of a global network of stats lab called the LISA2020 Network.
In accordance to the mandate of KNUST, LISA is to provide higher education, undertake research, disseminate knowledge and foster relationships with outside persons and bodies. The mission of LISA is to train statisticians and data scientists to become interdisciplinary collaborators, provide infrastructure to enable and accelerate quantitative research and to engage with the community to improve statistical skills and literacy. LISA is also a member of the College of Science’s Institute for Science Research, Innovations and Development (ISID).
The center is coordinated by Prof. A. O. Adebanji of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science along with a team of astute statisticians and data analysts. Current collaborators have profiles on our website so you can put a face to the name before your first meeting. In addition, faculty not listed may be available for collaboration on a case-by-case basis if your project aligns with their research interests.
